BENIN—OBA of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of the 2018 Eid-el-Malud celebration, marking the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
In a statement in Benin yesterday signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Desmond Agbama, the Benin monarch reminded Muslims to use the period to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Mohammed and endeavour to practise his virtues which include benevolence, love, piety, and alms giving to the needy.
He charged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the nation’s leaders and credible 2019 elections.
The Oba of Benin wished Muslims happy Eid-el-Malud celebrations and urged them to live in harmony with other Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion.
