- Bashir Ahmad said President Buhari's brand remains strong
- The presidential aide said crooks and thieves were trying to deface the president
As the race for the 2019 presidential election draws near, the presidency has said that Muhammadu Buhari cannot be de-marketed in spite of attempts by opposition to defame him.
Bashir Ahmad who is the personal assistant to the president on new media had quoted Femi Adesina who said he was ready to stand with Buhari describing him as a trust worthy person
In reaction, one Asmau Atiku Abubakar asked if competency was equal to integrity as that was not enough to sell Buhari to the people.
Ahmad in how own reaction to the concern said only thieves and crooks would be dissatisfied with the Buhari administration saying Buhari is a good product that cannot be de-marketed.
He wrote: "Yes, we have to do better, I agree with you, Asmau. Because you and I know that the crooks, thieves and freeloaders, who want business as usual are out by all means to defame, demean and de-market the Buhari govt. But PMB is a good product, and good product can’t be de-market."
