The National Association of Nigerian Students has
convened an emergency meeting on the issue of the
ASUU strike
- The meeting is to seek for a solution between the
federal government and the union
- NANS called for sensitivity between the two parties to
the plight of young Nigerian students
As the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)
remains at an impasse with the federal
government on the issue of the ongoing indefinite
strike, the National Association of Nigerian
Students (NANS) is calling on the parties to engage
in constructive engagement.
NANS convened an emergency meeting in which
they urged both bodies to engage "with a human
face to resolve the lingering issues" that led to the
declaration of the strike to save the education
sector.
According to NAN, the students body decried the
incessant and prolonged strike as one of factors
responsible for the falling standard of education in
Nigeria.
